AOTM – September Submissions

Trey uncovers a local library conspiracy, Robbie continues to mispronounce our intro music’s artist album from August, and Jason talks about the smells & sounds of Fall.

Episode 14: An Interview With Corey Flegel

The boys interview music label owner, exceptional dog-walker, and the 4th most famous person from Athens, Alabama — Corey Flegel from This Is American Music. The conversation journeys from attempting to define “Southern Indie” to the impossibility of marketing to soccer moms.

AOTM – August Submissions

A young child says to his mother, “Mom, when I grow up I’d like to be a musician.” She replies, “Well honey, you know you can’t do both.”

It’s a voting week! We decide who had the best album for July, and we also submit our albums for August. Robbie throws out an amazing Could Have Been a Classic. Jason adds more vinyl to his collection and Trey finally phones it in. It’s a good one y’all.

AOTM – July Submissions (one take/no edits, mobile edition)

It’s time to vote for June & submit for July!  The boys do this one in one take while rolling down the road.  Robbie’s in the driver seat (sorry!), Jason’s holding the mic (sorrier!), but Trey’s finally back (sorriest!)  We also touch on Jason’s bluegrass background, creating another wide-but-white palette of music; Robbie makes an off-hand Eddie Vedder joke, and Trey brings up the rear literally & figuratively.
